Mead is one of the most historic fermented drinks found on Earth. It has the creativity of craft beer and the elegance of wine, but is in a category all its own. Mead is created by fermenting sugars found in honey, with additional herbs, spices, and fruits added to create unique flavors. Our meads typically have an ABV of 11% to 14%, and range from dry to sweet, with beautiful clarity and color.

Mead Tasting: Enjoy a free sampling of our meads and learn about the styles and range of flavors available in the world of mead! Available in our tasting room on a first come first serve basis. (5-10min)

Honey Tasting Experience: Discover the differences between six unique honeys from all across the United States as you taste the honey used in the creation of Silver Hand meads.

Reserve Tasting: Join us for a 35 minute sensory experience where we’ll explore the aromas and flavors of honey, the main ingredient for mead. Learn more about the honey bee as we showcase the inner workings of an empty beehive. Discover how different nectar sources determine flavor and color and how this can change year to year. Best of all, enjoy five different honey varietals from across the U.S. and Mexico, plus our local Virginia wildflower honey.
