A local’s favorite since 1984, the owner was born in Palermo, Sicily.
He grew up with this mama and grandma in the kitchen. His passion was always learning how to cook good food. And said “while my friends were outside playing, I was home cooking with my mama.” He came to the United States when he was 16 years old. And in his first day he fell in love with this country. He worked 10 years with his boss in Smithfield, Virginia. He saved his money to open his dream restaurant he wanted to name after himself, Maurizio. Through this, he was very happy he could bring his mama and grandma’s recipe back alive. Every time he is in the kitchen cooking fresh pasta and preparing sauces from scratch, he feels the presence of his mama and grandma.
