Historic Area Shops
See what shopping in the 18th-century was like in our Historic Area Shops located on East Duke of Gloucester Street. One-of-a-kind trade goods and other historical treasures are waiting to be discovered by YOU!
The John Greenhow store is our 18th-century general store. Mr. Greenhow offers historic items, including gourmet foods and libations, and other authentic finds.
Prentis Store, the oldest retail shop in America, features reproduction items made by American craftsmen and our Historic Trades team, including leather goods, glass, earthenware, and more.
Stop by the William Pitt store to try your hand at historic games and toys, and to shop for apparel and souvenirs.
Have you ever dreamed of walking through Williamsburg in your very own 18th- century costume? We can help with that at Tarpley, Thompson, and Company! Tarpley’s stocks ready-to-wear clothing and accessories for men, women, and children. Sewists can also pick up reproduction print fabrics by the yard.
Fine jewelry and precious heirloom gifts can be found at Golden Ball, our historic jewelry shop, including our signature c-band sterling silver bracelet.
In the warmer months, stop by Market House, our outdoor seasonal shop. Pick up a straw hat or tricorn, toys, and other fun items as you meander through the streets enjoying the spring, summer, and fall weather.

Adjacent to the Historic Area along West Duke of Gloucester Street, our shops in Merchants Square offers a modern shopping experience.
Trend meets tradition at Brick & Vine, our flagship WILLIAMSBURG brand store, featuring two floors of shopping heaven. Find everything to fill your home with Williamsburg style, including furniture, home accents, gifts, seasonal merchandise, jewelry, art, books, and gourmet foods. Create the home of your dreams in Brick & Vine’s Design Center upstairs.
