High-Thrill Rides

Busch Gardens Williamsburg has several high-thrill rides that are sure to get your adrenaline pumping.

A legendary snow monster has been spotted at Busch Gardens. Board Alpengeist, a ski-lift-style roller coaster that sends you through six inversions during this dynamic, high-speed ride.

Hold on to your seats when you ride Apollo’s Chariot. This award-winning hypercoaster features of nine hair-raising air-time hills. The ride’s elevated seating creates a free-flight sensation as you reach speeds of up to 73 miles per hour.

The newest ride to Busch Gardens Williamsburg is Finnegan’s Flyer. This “screamin’ swing” ride soars riders over the Ireland neighborhood. You’ll reach a height of over 80 feet as you swing back and forth.

One of the world’s tallest dive coasters, Griffon provides an elevated experience by removing the floor beneath you. Riders plunge 205 feet, going 75 miles per hour, during this heart-stopping ride.

Grab your Viking helmet as you prepare to ride InvadR. This is Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s first wooden roller coaster.

Loch Ness Monster is the world’s first interlocking, double-looping roller coaster. With over 3,000 feet of steel track, riders will zoom in the air, through a dark cave and over water.

Take in some of the best views of the park before free falling 240 feet. Mäch Tower slowly climbs to the top, allowing you to take in the scenery, then drops riders at a speed of 60 miles per hour.

Recreate the death-defying stunts of an Italian daredevil aboard Tempesto. This multi-launch coaster reaches speeds of 63 miles per hour and features a 154-foot inversion.

A ride on Verbolten is an experience like no other. This multi-launch, indoor and outdoor coaster sends riders racing through the Black Forest then into total darkness. The ride uses several elements, including light and sound effects, to create a roller coaster experience you won’t soon forget.

Medium-Thrill Rides

Medium-thrill rides are less intense than high-thrill rides but just as fun for the whole family.

Make sure to head to Ireland to experience Busch Gardens’ virtual reality ride, Battle for Eire. This 360-degree motion-based simulator ride brings a fairy adventure to life.

If Finnegan’s Flyer is too much for you, try The Battering Ram. This family-friendly swing ride uses a giant pendulum to rock riders back and forth.

Da Vinci’s Cradle dares to defy the laws of gravity by plunging and soaring riders.

Enjoy the fun of bumper cars with a German twist with Der Autobahn. The whole family will love crashing into each other on this classic ride.

Prepare to take flight on Der Wirlbelwind. This classic swing ride offers great views and a little thrill too.

Escape from the ancient ruins of Pompeii before making a splash on Escape from Pompeii.

For a less high-flying flight, experience The Flying Machine. This circular ride sends riders round and round at a lower height.

Get ready to jerk back and forth on Le Catapult. This scrambler ride rocks, swings and ricochets you from all different directions.

If you’re looking to cool off on a summer’s day, make a splash on Le Scoot. One of Busch Gardens’ water rides, this log flume ride plunges riders 50 feet during a refreshing ride. One of the other water rides is Roman Rapids. Experience the thrill of a white-water rafting adventure right in the park.

The Sesame Street Forest of Fun is specifically for children and their families to enjoy. This Sesame Street themed area features rides and playgrounds. Leisure Rides
