Recently, Busch Gardens Williamsburg revealed plans for a new roller coaster set to open in spring 2020. The new Pantheon® coaster will be a record-breaking, multi-launch roller coaster located in the park’s Festa Italia village. The Roman-god themed coaster will reach a top speed of 72.5 miles per hour, making it the fastest multi-launch coaster in North America.
“Pantheon is going to be non-stop action for riders,” said Larry Giles, Senior Director, Design & Engineering. “We’ve designed it so that the experience is changing all the time and will keep riders wondering what’s next,” Giles added.
The ride will feature a total of four launches, including forward and backward launches, as well as two inversions and a 95-degree drop on the 3,328-foot-long coaster. Pantheon will last approximately two minutes with a maximum height of 180 feet.
The announcement of Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s newest coaster makes this the fourth consecutive year of new attractions at the park. This year, Busch Gardens debuted Finnegan’s Flyer™, Virginia’s only “screamin’ swing.”
The first 1,000 guests who visit the Oktoberfest Pin Cart on Wednesday, Aug. 7 will receive a free Pantheon pin.
