Presidents’ Day Weekend

As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2026, there is no better place to spend Presidents’ Day weekend than in the city that shaped the nation’s earliest leaders.

From February 14–16, 2026, Colonial Williamsburg invites visitors to step back into the 18th century to meet the “Nation Builders” who would go on to become Commanders in Chief.

Meet the Founders

Before they were presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison were young Virginians navigating the political and social landscape of Williamsburg. During this special long weekend, you can encounter these iconic figures throughout the Historic Area. Special programming allows guests to explore the specific experiences in Virginia’s colonial capital that prepared these men for the presidency. You’ll hear firsthand how they tackled the monumental tasks of drafting the Declaration of Independence, engineering the Constitution, and leading the Continental Army to victory.

An Evening with the Presidents

The weekend’s signature event, “An Evening with the Presidents,” takes place on Saturday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m. at the Kimball Theatre. Hosted by Nation Builder Katharine Pittman (well-known for her portrayal of Martha Washington), this special program features Washington, Jefferson, and Madison in a reflective conversation. As the nation turns “250 years young,” the presidents discuss how their administrations navigated the intense political factions and differences that challenged the country at its inception. It is a powerful opportunity to hear how our early leaders forged a path through disagreement toward a shared hope for America’s future.

Exclusive Stay Packages

For those looking to fully immerse themselves in the holiday, Colonial Williamsburg Resorts offers a dedicated Presidents’ Day Package. Guests staying at official hotels—such as the Williamsburg Inn or the Williamsburg Lodge—receive two complimentary tickets to the “Evening with the Presidents” program. The package also includes a 2026 Colonial Williamsburg wall calendar and a trio of presidential chocolate bars upon check-in.
