US Sailing International Safety at Sea Course

This hands-on training course will prepare you for survival offshore in demanding situations and emergencies. What you learn in this course may save your life and the lives of others in an emergency. We encourage you to give the course the effort and time it deserves.

The course is taught by experienced lifelong sailors and is designed for sailors of all types and levels  cruisers, racers, novices, and experts. The subject matter reflects the accumulated knowledge and lessons learned by the worldwide sailing community.

The course has two parts. The first part is the Online Offshore Safety at Sea Course that will provide you with an excellent level of knowledge and is the starting point for the second part of the course.

Ticket Pricing and Information:

  • Early Bird Discount: $325 (Save $20, now through February 28!)
  • Regular Price: $345 (No discounts available after February 28.)
  • Your Course fee includes: US Sailing’s book Safety at Sea: A Guide to Safety Under Sail and Personal Survival, lunch, US Sailing certificate, lectures, a docent tour, demonstrations, course materials, and round trip transportation from the Museum to the pool and back.
  • Space is limited to 50 participants.
  • Ticket sales close April 8, 2026 at 4 p.m. (ET)
