Oct. 1: Yorktown Wine Festival

Oct. 6-29: Lighting of the Cressets

On select dates in October, Join us on the historic Duke of Gloucester Street for the Lighting of the Cressets as we bring our 18th-century streets to life at night with strolling musicians.

Oct. 19: Yorktown Day

Celebrate Yorktown and America’s independence during the annual Yorktown Day celebration. On Saturday, Oct. 19, Yorktown Battlefield, the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and York County will all honor the 1781 Siege at Yorktown with a full day of events and activities. The day begins with a wreath-laying ceremony followed by a patriotic parade down Main Street. Enjoy a performance by the Fifes and Drums of York Town and be sure to visit all of the town’s historic sites, such as the Nelson House, Yorktown Custom HouseYork County Historical MuseumWatermen’s Museum, and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. On the Battlefield Tour Roads, visit siege lines, the redoubts, and Surrender Field!

Oct. 21-22: Family Frights

Family Frights at Jamestown Settlement returns on October 21 & 22, 2022 for the ninth year of scary good family fun. As the sun goes down, the outdoor areas transform into Halloween themes offering a night of trick-or-treating, creepy crafts, festive music, decorated houses and spooky ships. Two sessions will be available, 6-7:30 p.m. and 8-9:30 p.m. An evening ticketed event.

Until Oct. 31: Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream

Fall officially begins at Busch Gardens Williamsburg with the park’s annual Howl-O-Scream. This frightful, month-long event features haunted houses with monsters lurking around every corner, themed scare zones, escape rooms and entertaining live shows. All of Howl-O-Scream’s attractions and activities are included with your admissions ticket to Busch Gardens.
