January 8: Friendly Hours at The Mariners’ Museum and Park

The Mariners’ Museum and Park invites guests with mobility, cognitive or physical challenges to experience the museum in a less crowded environment during Friendly Hours. Friendly Hours, from 9–11 a.m., will feature reduced sound and lighting. Admission is just $1 for all to attend. Space is limited so register in advance.

January 13–16: Winter Blues Jazz Fest

The sixth annual Winter Blues Jazz Fest takes place primarily in the Merchants Square area of Williamsburg. The four-day event, over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, has something for everyone. The weekend will include an event at The Williamsburg Winery, Mixology & Music, the Art of Jazz event, Gospel Brunch and more.

January 20: The Powhatan & English Walking Tour at Historic Jamestowne

Join Public Historian Mark Summers for a program discussing the interactions, trade, and conflict between English colonists and the Powhatan Paramount Chiefdom based on archaeological evidence. Free with paid admission to Historic Jamestowne.

January 22: Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra Cabaret & Cocktails

Singer/songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway joins the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra in a night of Cabaret & Cocktails at the Williamsburg Lodge. Experience performances from the past century of song, featuring hits by Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt and more.

January 28: Virginia Symphony Orchestra’s Big Bad Muscial Wolf

Using special musical arrangements specifically designed for this program, musicians from the Virginia Symphony Orchestra walk kids of all ages through the stories of the “Three Little Pigs,” and Prokofiev’s “Peter and The Wolf” as they learn about various aspects of music. Includes a question and answer session.
