Go Ape features two courses, the Treetop Adventure and the Treetop Journey.

Go Ape Treetop Adventure

The Treetop Adventure course is Go Ape’s classic course. This two- to three-house course takes you on a journey through the forest canopy. This aerial adventure includes swings, suspended obstacles and zip lines. The forest is your scenic backdrop as you take part in the challenging and fun high-ropes course.

Treetop Adventure Rules

The Go Ape Treetop Adventure course has a minimum age restriction of 10 years old, a minimum height of 4 feet 7 inches tall and a maximum weight of 285 pounds.

Up to two children and teens between ages 10–15 must be supervised by a participating adult.

Go Ape Treetop Journey

For a starter course in Go Ape’s high-ropes adventures, begin with the Treetop Journey. This one-hour course is perfect for people who are new to ropes courses or those who are afraid of heights. Treetop Journey uses a safety system to guarantee a fun, stress-free experience. Less physically demanding than Treetop Adventure, this course has 20 obstacles and two ziplines.

Treetop Journey Rules

The Go Ape Treetop Journey course is for all ages. The course does, however, have a minimum height requirement of 3 feet 3 inches and a maximum weight of 285 pounds.

Every two children ages 5 and under must be supervised by a participating adult. Up to eight children and teens ages 6–15 must be supervised by a participating adult as well.

The cost of one of Go Ape’s outdoor adventure excursions depends on which course you choose.

Go Ape Treetop Journey

Go Ape Treetop Adventure is $39 for participants ages 10–15 and $59 for participants over 16 years old. Go Ape Treetop Journey is $29 for all ages.

More Information About Go Ape Freedom Park

Go Ape Freedom Park is open seasonally from March through December.

Before you begin your rope course adventure, participants train with Go Ape’s instructors who will explain all of the safety rules.

Go Ape Freedom Park Weather

The forest canopy keeps the courses cool in the summer and there are water stations located throughout the courses.

Go Ape Freedom Park is open rain or shine. If you choose not to climb in the rain, you can reschedule but be aware of Go Ape’s cancellation policy.

What to Wear to Go Ape Freedom Park

Be sure to wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes such as tennis shoes, sneakers or boots. Your clothing should allow for you to move comfortably as you climb and glide.

Long hair should be pulled back into a pony tail, braid or bun. Body piercings and jewelry should be removed or covered.

Directions to Go Ape Freedom Park

Go Ape Freedom Park is located at 5537 Centerville Road in Williamsburg. The entrance to the park is located off of Centerville Road and down Hotwater Trail. Parking is available on-site.
