Colonial Williamsburg Commemorates Juneteenth

Sunday, June 18 and Monday, June 19

On Sunday, June 18, Colonial Williamsburg will host a 6 a.m.  Juneteenth Sunrise Service under the Compton Oak featuring a keynote address by thought leader, actress and playwright Tina Lifford. The Foundation will also reprise last year’s inaugural offer of free admission on June 19, which will provide guests who pre-register for the free pass with access to all programming in the Historic Area and art museums. Special programming, including a visit from New Orleans master blacksmith Darryl Reeves and a drum circle in Market Square, will round out the day’s Juneteenth programming.
