Nov. 3: Virginia Thanksgiving Festival

Every year on the first Sunday of November, Berkeley Plantation hosts the Virginia Thanksgiving Festival. This annual tradition dates back to 1619 when Captain John Woodlief and his crew of 35 men landed on the shores of the James River. Fun activities for the entire family include a re-enactment of the First English Thanksgiving, Chickahominy Tribal Dancers, parade with horse drawn carriages, fife and drum, musicians, colonial period games, dancing and choral groups and more.

Nov. 8: Wonderful Williamsburg Weekend

CultureFix is proud to present Wonderful Williamsburg Weekend on the Lawn of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg. On Friday, Chowderfest will feature chowder from over 15 restaurants and live music. Come and experience Noktoberfest on Saturday, an authentic Oktoberfest event under a huge heated tent with endless pretzels and beer, served by beer maids and men in traditional lederhosen. Stay Sunday for 2nd Sundays Art and Music Festival.

Nov. 9: Virginia Living Museum Oyster Roast

Enjoy all-you-can-eat fresh Virginia oysters, fried seafood, chowder, dessert buffet, craft beers, wine, full bar, DJ/live music, raffles and more at the Virginia Living Museum’s annual Oyster Roast. Proceeds from the sell-out event go towards the museum’s award-winning educational programs and animal care needs.

Beginning Nov. 16: Busch Gardens Christmas Town

The holiday season shines brightest during Christmas Town at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. From Nov. 16 through Jan. 5, Christmas Town will feature 10 million twinkling lights as the park is transformed into a winter wonderland. The whole family will love the festive holiday décor, entertaining themed shows and much more during this celebration.

Nov. 28–30: Food & Feasts of Colonial Virginia

Experience the traditions of a colonial Thanksgiving during Food & Feasts of Colonial Virginia. This holiday event at Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown explores the foodways of 17th– and 18th-century Virginia. Learn about how food was gathered, preserved and prepared during that time and visit a recreated Powhatan Indian village along with a Continental Army encampment.
