Biking in Williamsburg
More than 25 Bike Routes, including the new Virginia Capital Trail, crisscross the
Williamsburg region, featuring historic sites, parks, scenic country back roads and picturesque farmland.
Williamsburg lies between two mighty Virginia Rivers, the James and the York; traveling the region by bike offers breathtaking water views like no other mode.
The
Colonial Parkway spans 23 miles of unmarked, scenic aggregate pavement for bikes with tires that can take it – a hybrid or mountain bike makes for a smoother ride, but skinny tires will do. This is a must do for any cyclist!
From the first capital of
Jamestown to today’s capital in
Richmond, the Virginia Capital Trail is more than 50 miles of beautiful
Virginia biking.
