About the Williamsburg Botanical Garden

Located within Freedom Park, the Williamsburg Botanical Garden is a secluded piece of natural paradise away from the busier parts of the city. The Williamsburg Botanical Garden is a public garden where locals and visitors alike can relax and enjoy the garden’s natural surroundings, including plants, insects and wildlife.

The mission of the Williamsburg Botanical Garden is to “enhance the life of residents and visitors by promoting beautiful gardens for the enjoyment of plants and the environment through year-round educational and recreational programs.

Things to Do at the Williamsburg Botanical Garden

Take a walk through the two-acre garden known as the “Ellipse Garden” due to its shape. Within the garden are pathways through the Herb Garden, Butterfly Garden and Native Garden. You’ll be able to view and learn about plant and native species that live in the region. Williamsburg Botanical Garden also boasts a pavilion, benches and picnic tables.

The Williamsburg Botanical Garden hosts events throughout the year, including the annual Butterfly Festival in August and several educational events as well.
